Backup privacy information
Kin Production Backups is a private recovery tool operated by Kin's owner. Its Google Drive authorization is used only to store, verify, download and manage the encrypted backup files created by this integration.
Backups contain Kin's production database, private configuration and recovery files, and the application release. They are encrypted on the hosting server before upload. The private decryption key is kept separately on the owner's Mac and is not uploaded with the backups. Backup metadata includes creation times, file sizes and integrity checksums.
The tool requests the Google Drive per-file permission, not access to all Drive contents. Its authorization credential is stored privately on the hosting server so scheduled uploads can continue without the owner's Mac. It does not use Google data for advertising, sell it, or send it to AI models.
Encrypted copies are stored on the hosting server, in the owner's Google Drive, and on the owner's Mac when it is available. The daily retention target is 30 days after a successful cloud upload; failed uploads are retained for recovery and retry. Google Drive's own trash and recovery rules can retain deleted files separately.
The owner can revoke the integration through their Google Account's connected-app settings. Revocation stops future Drive access; it does not itself delete existing backups. The owner controls removal of the backup files from Drive and other storage locations.
Google API data use follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
